Got mine on a Dub-L-Seat. Umbrella fits in the center of it. It is also possible to add another seat ped hole to put it in but that involves cutting another hole in the deck.
With the blistering summer sun beating down, I'm trying to come up with some way to easily set up some shade in my boat so my grandson can be a bit more comfortable fishing with me.
I'm looking at some way of rigging maybe a piece of PVC pipe to a pedestal seat in my boat that will accommodate a patio/picnic umbrella.
Any of y'all got any kind of contraption like that?
Any thoughts and pics would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

swamp fox, i have a umbrella mounted to a base I bought from Walmart or Lowes. The stand is heavy and holds the umbrella securely with a set screw. I have a stick steer boat and it is mounted between the front seat and the livewell. The umbrolla comes with a two piece shaft. Cut off the connecting lock sleeve and use a connector that can be purchased from Lowes used to connect pipes together. This can be tightened down on by screwing down on the top section. This works well uness there is a lot of wind. Only way I can fish on a hot day!! Good luck, there are other ways to do the same thing, I have a friend who puts his in the pedestal bracket.........crappie1133

I used 1.5" pvc.
make sure horizontal piece is long enough to clear your seat back.
dry fit and screw pieces together and give it a try on the water before you glue things together.
works good till it gets too windy.

I like the setups you guys have built to follow the seats around.

Country Boy, what's the diameter of the pipe that you have attached with the hose clamps? Also is that piece PVC or metal and is the end of it plugged? If so, how?
Thanks
Those PVC contraptions are awesome. Gonna have to build me one!
