    Default My daughter's CT crappie

The past couple weeks have been nothing but scattered rain up here in CT and the fishing hasn't been so hot either. The other day we went down to the docks to drop a few lines for an hour or two. We just hang out and jig vertically near the corners of the finger docks. We usually do well in this location but recently things have been really slow and the kids have been disappointed. Well it turned out to be a pretty good day in between the showers. The docks were quiet, the water dead calm and nobody else was there. We managed to reel up around 20 fish, 4 of them over 12". Here is a nice one my daughter caught, which is her biggest ever. We didn't weigh it or have a tape but it was a fun fight on a 5'6" ultralight with 4lb flouro. She caught him using a 1/16 jig with a pink and white crappie magnet, jigging directly below the dock in about 12' of water. This was the first time we tried using a pink/white combo.....I think it worked.
