Just started testing my new underwater video equipment and would like you opinions. The video starts with my depth finder shows that I am on the crappies .next a nice group of black crappie on a sunken log. The last part is a surprise even to me and I think you will like it.

Drop down camera or are you diving? Guessing that was a Pike or Musky at the end? We don't have those down here. Cool footage, don't stop, get some more.

What kind of camera are you using????? Marcum ???????? Excellent quality. I have used an Aqua View in the past for Ice fishing. Amazing what the crappies and blue gills do when those Northern come sneaking around. LOL

As I rewatch the video I think I should have put the part with the depthfinder at the end???

Either way is good? Your fishfinder is kinda hard to read, dude? I have a cheapo portable Humminbird 110 purchased from WalMart (only $116) and it shows the fish a little better.

I'm sure yours is a lot more bucks, maybe the vid didn't show it that well.

That is such a neat camera, though. I think I'll get one? What is the cost? and where can I purchase one!

Depth finder is in auto range, that is why it jumps around like that. I should have not had the zoom screen turned on and auto turned off

Cool video! I was thinking about a underwater camera, but not sure enough that this lake is clear enough for it to work right. So I didn't follow through on that.

you have to accept that you will not spend as much time fishing, if you have a camera.

Good to see you back, Ken !! Nice video :ThumbsUp

While I understand the wonder of seeing, firsthand (via camera), what the depthfinder is showing .... I think I'd be too excited to get a bait down there among all those Crappie, to spend much time watching them on "tv" :Rofl

With your waters being clear enough to see/film that good, over that much distance .... why not try and capture the Crappie's reaction to a jig (or minnow). And the reaction of the rest of the school, to one being caught & removed from their midst. That'd make for some good instructional video and discussion material.

Thanks for posting !!

I actually never really left ….been busy with new job. More visiting and reading than posting.
I have a new process for getting my analog video to digital in a format that can be edited. (this is more challenging than it sounds)
I am working on a setup that will allow me to press record and then just fish.(we will see how that goes)
Still working on my editing skills.

Ken, awesome video. I love crappiepappys idea of showing the reaction to a jig or minnow. Keep em coming. I have driven past rainy lake a number of times headed north to either Lac Seul or the lakes around Sioux Lookout. Absolutely love fishing in Ontario. The people, scenery and fishing just can't be beat !!

I have some older videos of crappie fishing that shows several crappies taking jig and being caught... if I don't get some new and better this summer I will dig thru my old collection.
Thanks everyone for the comments and watching the video

Ken, I really enjoyed that. I played around with a $399 aqua view that broke after about 4 uses in a years time. I threw it in the garbage too mad at myself for buying it to even take it back. Looks like you just bought an accessory underwater camera that plugs into a regular handheld...right? No? If so, can you tell use where you got it? I would watch any video you post bro! Love the idea of seeing a fish hit the jig, but I know that's gonna be tough to catch on film! have fun tryin though!

I am thinking that the camera and cable part of the aquaview are all that you need...Then you need a camercorder that will accept analog video in(kinda hard to find). .then you have to be prepared to spend less time fishing and more time messing with equipment.
I will be posting more video but I don't know when. (triing to get better at flming and editing)
I will post link here when i do

If you watch the video on a phone (small screen) you may not see it. If you look in the back round you can just make out a pike circling in the opposite direction. Hard to see on a small screen
