Best fishing spots near Great Lakes Naval Base Ill.?
Hey guys, I'm going to Great Lakes for "A" school around September. I'll be moving from Florida so I have no where to go when I get the time . Any ideas? haha

Been a long time since I was there but I just went down to the marina and got help from the locals. The local fisherman are more than willing to help you get on some fish. The marina was nice when I was there and am sure it has gotten better. They may even rent boats. Good luck with A school. I did Gunnery A school there.

I can't tell you where to fish up there, but good luck in classes. I spent all of 76 and half of 77 up there for FT A and C school. I can tell you that having the shore patrol midwatch up there in Jan/Feb is cold !! That wind off of the lake cuts right through you, specially with just a P coat on .
