An inflatable may fine, but if it were me, I would pick up a used aluminum which will last for awhile and when you decide to upgrade, you can get all your money back. Welcome to the forum and have fun.

I fished out of my buddies inflatable boat back when I was just fresh out of high school fifteen years ago and I thought the boat was extremely uncomfortable. Back then I was 6'2 and weighed 180 pounds. I prefer a Jon boat and you could strap a 12' Jon boat to the top of your car. Just lay a blanket down in between them. You may look like a redneck but it would be worth it

I've been there like crappiepants. I would watch craigslist or other sites for a 'yak, canoe, or small jon boat. You will be much more comfortable.

    A Texan without a truck...c'mon....
