nice bunch of fish, wrong kind of excitment for me.
After a couple not so good catching trips to Truman. Dad decides we should try loz. Met him in Sedalia and headed down. A few miles from the ramp we get stopped by the sherif dept wanting to look in the truck and boat. Asked him what was going on and he just said they were looking for someone. We didn't know anything about the manhunt.
Get to the ramp and head down to the first cove out of the wind. Mark some fish close to the mouth of the cove. Start catching some dinks then a few nicer fish. Fish were just scattered in the cove not relating to any thing that I could tell. 12-16 fow 7-12 foot down was best.
About 2:30 the helicopter shows up and starts circling our cove we are rigging in. Then the water patrol shows up. He stops about 200 yards from us and the helicopter is right on top of him. We decide its time to head back to the truck. A little too much excitement for us. Guess they had him cornered in that area a few hundred yards from us!
Ended up with 22 keepers biggest was 13.5. Good day on the water even with the wind and manhunt. Hope they catch him soon.

Nice! At least you didn't catch what they were looking for!
Congrats on the nice fish. I think they were just trying to see what type of bait you were catching your fish on. Heard on the news this morning they are looking for some guy from Columbia. Said he stole a boat down in LOZ but they didn't catch him.
the guy kidnapped and raped a Mizzou student. That is what tv is saying and the FBI is in on it now.A couple of years ago we were headed to the Osage EARLY in the morning and we got to Rosebud and they had a manhunt going on. Don't remember what he did. they check truck and boat and left go on through down hwy. 50. Told us not to stop for any one. I said don't worry I won't.
Good job on the catching! Sounds like to much excitement for me!
I came through Moberly last night and came upon a Highway patrol road block, must've been 6 troopers. You could tell they were looking for someone, just checked your drivers license and nothing else.
