    Default GPS selection help

I'm looking for a GPS unit that can be used to locate some of the fish attractors that the MDC has places in some of the lakes. What GPS units are the most popular for this? Thanks for your responses.

I have a Garmin 76s, that does the job well, may be a little more upper end than you need.

I use the garmin "etrex' hand held and it works fine for me....... pretty easy to use and you can usually find a good one on ebay for less than $60.....

I have a hand-held too...don't use it much anymore because I have sonar with GPS, but I also use it in the woods when I find mushrooms in a new spot!

Believe it or not you can use the iPhone app findMofish on your smart phone. It uses triangulation off of cell towers so it is a little slow but it will guide you right in. Works best if the passenger guides the driver in but it will work. The app is free.

I have a handheld Lowrance H2OC which works fine and all, but it is near impossible to see the screen without the backlight on, and if you leave the backlight on, it eats through batteries. That's the only thing I'd look for in a new one is how well you can see the screen in direct sunlight.
