There are currently a few discussion threads about the lights we use for night fishing. And I've seen a time or two where the depth of the lights has been mentioned. Has anybody experimented with light depth? Does it attract or scare the fish? Do the fish tend to hang out between the light and the bait fish attracted to it?
I usually have my lights near the surface. There have been times on a trip where the bites have really slowed down and I have actually turned off some of the lights. This seems to kind of "wake up" the fish and I'll begin to get bites again. When it slows down again I'll turn the lights back on.

Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish, he'll sit in a boat and drink beer all day.
