Default Had to replace the transducer on my 898, I had it mounted on the TM

and it worked fine until a incident pulled the wires out of the ducer Well I purchased a new on and today was the first time I have gotten to use it on the water. Everything seems to work fine except the SI one side looks fine and the other side is very dim and can hardly see it. I was wandering if anyone had this to happen to them and if so what was the cause and cure ? below is a picture as best as I could do this morning out on the water in the sun. Any and all help and info greatly appreciated

Well maachuu ...with this being on the TM ...I really don't think it's a blockage problem..

That really only leave about 2 possibilities...

*The xducer is not level side to side...causing the left beam to shoot too high up into the water column....(make sure the xducer is "in-line" with the skeg on the TM to center it on the bottom of the motor...)
    *The xducer in malfunctioning...

Do you know someone that has a SI unit that you could test on your xducer to confirm the problem...??

thanks Rickie, I will see if someone has one for me to try this on, but Im pretty sure that it is level but will double check it to see, just realized something that I failed to put it the first post but if I looked real hard and up close, I could see the other side of the SI but it is real dim and not visible in the sunlight. I tried numerous setting and even went back to factory defaults. DI and sonar works fine and are visible as they should be, just that one side of the SI screen that is so dim

This is what mine looked like when mine went bad (xducer). first one side then both. Shop around before buying. Prices vary.
