Default Schools out and Gills are in

Oldest boy wanted to catch some gills and bass today. Gave the crappie a break. Had to look hard and cover a lot of water. Did find 3 beds or more like 3 places the size of a washing machine. Water was stained so I couldn't see beds. You had to hit the sweet spot to catch any. They were shooting eggs across the boat when you unhooked them. Water was mid to high 80's. Crickets were the best but a few of the bigger ones came on beetle spin type baits. Kept 23 and 4 small cats. Threw back half that many smaller ones. I guess now that its hot the darn wind aint gonna blow at all. He had a good time and so did I. Love seeing that cork twitch and the rod double over. Just plain old FUN. Here's a pic or two
