Those marks on my skeg look like scratches, but if you look closely you can see my finger marks where I
rubbed my fingers through the marks upon seein em, also thinking they were scratches.
They're just marks, kinda like soapstone, however, they don't wipe off, but are perfectly smooth.
Where they come from = I have no idea

They're called "skeg marks" they happen when your motor gets real scared while running in shallow water

Looks like you need to reseal the lower unit , water and oil not a good mix LOL RR
