    Default YEA... Smithvill is FULL!

USGS Current Conditions for USGS 06821140 Smithville Reservoir near Smithville, MO

As of 6am this morning the lake finally reached normal pool... and more rain on the way. Let's hope they don't start dumping water... It's going to be a long summer.

Don't worry you still can rip off your lower unit and it will look low!

I DID rip the transducer off my trolling motor going over a pond dam on Camp Branch. New one (and shield) on the way from Bass Pro.

I have been sing a transducer shield very since I ripped mine off the trolling motor the same way . Best investment I have made . As for the lower unit , I'm not worried with the jet . :

I'll take my chances on a motorcycle than a smart car!

There can't be room for the driver and a case of beer in those little cars. At least we're getting some water back in the lake!
The fishing was so good I thought it was yesterday

Did that once... on the rocks near the golf course point... before they put the warning buoy there... Got a little chunk missing from the back corner of my skeg too. Probably should get one of those shiny stainless protectors for it... if they make one for a 90 Merc.

Since the replacement transducer and shield cost $140 (shipped), I thought about spending a few hundred more to replace the old Eagle 380 with a Lowrance Elite 7 HDI combo. (Drool)... But, somehow, the new fishfinder turned into a clothes dryer.
