    Lake Wales, Fl.
    Tournament results 5/25/13

    Due to this being Holiday Weekend,
    small number of teams entered for
    various reasons, some of which were
    high winds predicted for "Big K", family
    activities planned, company comming in
    for weekend. Heat and possible rain in
    forcast, etc. etc.

    Five teams took to water along with all
    kinds of Holiday vistors, airboats, pontoons, bass tournaments, small craft
    of various discriptions all entering and
    leaving Camp Mack. "What a festive event"

    As the weather people predicted, winds
    on Kissimmee came to pass. By 10:30 am
    winds were gusting to 16 mph out of the
    ESE across 34,000 acres of water, making
    for dandy 4-5 ft whitecaps and rollers.

    Two teams fished KIssimmee, one team
    went to canoe creek lake Cypress, and
    two teams fished Tiger Lake.

    One (1) position paid for "Big Fish"

    1st: Harold McGhee / Ron Miley
    1 lb. 9.1 oz.

    One (1) position paid for "7 fish
    catch weight"

    1st: Harold McGhee / Ron Miley
    9 lbs. 3.5 oz

    2nd: Kirk Whitehead / David Rideout
    9 lbs. 3.0 oz

    Five tenths of 1 oz separated first from
    second place. Second time in history
    of Florida Crappie Club that a finish has
    been this close

    Winning team long-lined, micro-lite rods
    in 6-7 ft water, using charteuse 16th oz
    jig heads, black bodies, charteuse curley
    tails. Also used hot pink, orange & butter-
    cup Ron's Zip Jigs, some minnow tipped others employed minature curly tails
    pearl, orange, gray, speckle green

    Next tournament will be June 8th, Lake
    Griffin, Herlong Park Ramp, hwy 441,
    Leesburg, Fl.
