    Default Ohoopee Today

Billy and I went down to the Ohoopee River today with 200 crickets and my old pond boat. We put in near Collins and went up river. We managed to keep 55 nice river reds and tossed another 40-50 small fry. Good day and a purty river.

Most on a spindandy wid a cricket.

I have fished for the Pike but not this trip. The Redfin seems to big more in the Little Ohoopee and in the Canoochee. You are right, the Redfin is a very good eating fish.

Welcome to my backyard. I grew up on the Ohoopee. My dad would put me on the sandbar and he would wade out into the deeper water with a cricket jug around his neck and a stringer tied to his waist. Great memories. Glad y'all had a great day on the prettiest little river in Ga. Enjoy it soon because she is falling out quickly. Andy-1Cove

Andy, we did not get to fish any of the rivers much last year as it was too dry.
