Default Memorial Day "Ride of Pride"

Each year prior to Memorial Day Freightliner builds a truck to honor and remember men and women of The United States Armed Forces that have given the ultimate sacrifice for our country as well as remembering POW/MIA. While not to be confused with Veterans Day, this years Schneider truck design is two fold and is also intended to thank United States veterans and active military for their service to our country. I work for Freightliner and had the honor and privilege to drive the truck this year with the Patriot Guard Riders to several NC establishments throughout Rowan, Cabarrus, & Iredell counties with police escort. Flag rows were set up on either side of the truck at each stop and many people stopped to thank the riders for what they do. Special thanks goes out to the Patriot Guard Riders. This group of people, when requested, provide a great service to our country by attending funerals to honor fallen US military personnel. They are truly very special individuals. It was an experience I will never forget. During other trips U.S. flags were given out to veterans, active military, families of those who have lost loved ones, as well as the general public. The Schneider Freightliner is now being driven to Washington, D.C. by a Veteran driver for Memorial Day. Please take time this Memorial Day to remember those who fought and died while serving for all of the freedoms we enjoy today. While remembering them, I would also like to say "Thank You" to all veterans and active military for their service. Attached is a video of the truck and the Patriot Guard Riders arriving @ Richard's Coffee Shop in Mooresville, NC for a ceremony as well as some pics of the truck, the riders, and the Cabarrus County motorcycle unit that escorted us.
