Yesterday I was goofing around in 85 degrees of soupy air trying out a few panfish lure designs I made in winter.

I hadn't seen any orange lures or orange tails on grubs (the usual bright tails being white, pink or chartreuse), so I made a few.

I caught a bunch of these little guys, white and yellow perch and many 12" crappie:

The action never stopped in and near pads all day long. Guess I'll make more.

These are the others that worked a few weeks ago before I was laid up with pneumonia.

Try making a few with the super thin tail shown (no mold; I can pm the process if you're interested).

Pretty close. I introduced them last year and the year before:

Bottom of page, top right hand corner.

I've been catching all species on them for five years since I first poured them using a teaspoon.

You should visit the DIY plastics forum here on c.com because there is a lot of great teaching there on making your own soft plastic baits.
