    Default Jig Color

How do you alter jig color based on water clarity? I often face stained to muddy water; sometimes I find clear water. Do you feel jig color really makes a measurable difference especially based on the depth being fished?

I don't know if the fish really care but it makes a lot of difference to me. I fish mostly muddy to stained water also and have colors I use but I'm not afraid to use my "clear water" colors at times

My lake has lots of different levels of stained to clear and yes it makes a huge difference! It all has to do with how far I can see a jig down in the water and to me 3' or more is clear and less is stained. Right at the 3' mark sometimes both will work, but one will work much better.
depth of water for sure makes a difference as well. Do a google search about fish and colors and you will find a lot of reading to study.
