It seems we are having a major influx of "Spambot" programs posing as new members, and posting "deals" on everything from drugs to stocks.

Here's the best way to handle these posts - IGNORE THEM !! Don't post on them ... that only keeps them current. PM the Moderator of that board, and make them aware of the intrusion ... they can delete the thread. If the Moderator doesn't get around to taking care of the situation, in a timely manner (say, within 24hrs of the posting) ... PM Edhead about the spammer postings. Give him the "member logon name" being used, and the board(s) where you see these posts. He can, and will, ban those members. All the Moderators can do, is delete the posts. And not all Moderators check their respective forums, daily, so they may not even be aware of these posts. But, once they are made aware ... and even if the "member" has been banned by Ed ... they should still delete the post/thread.

This site isn't the only site where this is happening. I've seen it on other sites, too. Best we can do, is to ignore these posts, delete them, and have Ed ban that "pseudo-member" logon. And you certainly don't want to actually "look at" any of these links ... or even think of contacting or purchasing from them. They are "spambot" programs ... part of the "phishing" scam, that you run into on your email accounts. All they want is for you to answer them ... so they can get your email addy. Then, they can spam you to death, and sell your email addy to other spammers.

I'm sure that, if there's something Ed can do, to stop this ... he's working on it !! If there isn't any "quick fix" ... then it falls on us, the true Members, to ignore these "phishy" posts ... and allow the Moderators to delete them from the forums, as they are made aware of their existance.
