curly tail jigs for longlining - need opinions.

Looking for help. which curly tails jigs have the best action/thinnest tails for longlining? in other words...tail still kicks at slower speeds.

Southern Pro Hot Grubs are hard to beat. Bobby Garland Strollers are catching a bunch here also. The Lake Fork Baby Shad have the most movement of any plastic body I have seen but I prefer the curly tail for longlining.

Kalins are a good grub. Tip ,if a grub,s tail get bent it will not wiggle at slow speed,you can put a piece of cloth over the tail after straight it ,then use wife iron and it will straighten back out, I also heard you can put in hot water and will straighten back out, I don,t know about hot water but iron I have done

Southerns, kalins, awd. you never can have enought curly tails, Triple tails if thats the right name or good also.


BUT DON'T THINK THEM SLIDERS DON'T CATCH FISH LONGLINING CAUSE THEIR THE BEST..... SHUUUU DON'T TELL KNOW ONE.

At .7 mph and above the crappie would not know the difference between a Kalin or Southern Pro, below .7mph I would go with the Kalins, it's tail is thinner and more elongated. I spider rig with Kalins all the time between .4-.7 mph, they are wonderful. So with long lining between these two you can't go wrong since most long liners are between .7-1.1 mph. Monks Crappie on the net has the best price on these grubs, he has both. Hope this helps.
