    Default crappie nibbles-poll

Well, after several winters of trying them,I'm not convinced they make enough of a difference.I've tried them on bare jigs when I'm in a activley feeding school,on 1 of a tandem rig,and tipping jigs.Haven't tried the baitpump yet.

    Please reply if you
    1) have personal success and wouldn't be caught dead without them
2)have a slight advantage in tough conditions
3)not enough difference to be worth the trouble

Think I might try waxworms this winter?

I would pick # 2 they have been making a difference the last few trips,i used one jar in two trips till i got my bait pump that thing makes it awful easy to use nibbles if you dont have one and use nibbles at all i would suggest one it gets old rebaiting with every fish but the bait pump takes that hassle away and it is a quality product i dont see any way of ever tearing it up.Now is the time if you are interested in a bait pump slab hunter has a special deal for crappie.com members right now, myself and 3 of my fishin buddies have taken advantage of it check out the classifieds for more info.

Lightbulb I will always use um......

    cook,
In my opinion crappie nibbles do 2 things.....
    1. Add scent removing any traces of contamination......
    2. When you get the bite, they add the extra seconds that you need to set the hook.

To many times I have gotten the thump, only to set the hook and no fish.
I feel that a crappie can strike the jig on instinct, and spit it out before you have time to react, if he doesn't like the taste. With crappie nibbles for me they tend to hold the bait longer, giving me time to set the hook.
I read a lot of post about fish being caught and barely hooked in the edge of the lip. With crappie nibbles, the percentage of hook sets in the deeper part of the mouth goes up. I don't feel that they are as affective of an attractant as folks perceive them to be.
Now this is just my perception of my personal usage of crappie nibbles.
This is in NO way intended to start any kind of huge debate.

    Thanks,
    Randy

I wouldn't go to Mark Twain without them. They are ALWAYS in the boat. I think it's more of a confidence thing. I've never had a situation where they did more harm than good.
    I think!?

 They are just like colors of jigs. Sometimes chartruse/red jig bodies work best, sometimes blue, sometimes pink,,etc. I have seen both. Those using them didn't catch any more, other times, if you didn't have them you were outa luck. Do they work??? I will say YES!!! Never leave home without them. I kinda like the sparkle ones. They make my nose sparkle Heh! Heh! Heh! <*)}}}><

I wasn't sold on them the few times I used them. I always drop a few and smear them into the carpet.
I like to get my bait back in the water quickly so I use Berkley Power Bait liquid. I call it snot. Maybe in October oneayousguys can show me the pump and how fast it is to load up a jig. I'm open to anything.
