Default Thanks to JWhite & Trolling spoons for specs?

First, Thank you Jeff White for starting me down this road of fast trolling. Your input helped me boat 76 Saturday (5 hrs of fishing). Of which my 7 year old boy reeled in about 70 of. Most came on Bandits on short lines 25-40'. Bunch of fun.
I do have a question for those trollers out there though. I had limited success with trolling spoons also. Do any of you guys troll spoons for crappie with success or was this just a day when any thing would work. My thought is that when fish get up on flats later in fall then faster trolling speeds (with spoons vs. jigs) might work over jigs.

Look forward to you guys input.

Glad you guys are catching 'em :D

spoons, yet another thing I've wanted to try, if I just had the time!
Keep us posted on how you do with them, ok?

Some other things I have wanted to try, or have only tried a little
are pulling small spinnerbaits or in-line spinners.
To much work, not enough fishing! :D

Anybody else ever try spoons for crappie? Was thinking about it just the other day... I've never heard much about it except for jigging them. Intriguing.

I have tried several sizes of spoons with very limited success. My go to for trolling is to use what ever I am tight lining with. Most often just a simple minnow on an Aberdeen hook. When I hit a good fish I anchor and fish the spot until the fish stop cooperating and then its back to trolling to next spot. I guess I just use trolling to locate fish and anchor, fish, and then troll again and do this over and over. Works well on the small lake I frequent.
Keep them poles bent and the boat right side up! LOL

That is an interesting technique and it makes sense. I pretty much troll jigs and spinners, but I may need to try a small spoon to see if it yields different results. Thx for your reply.
