Nice to hear Cook, What are they biting on? How deep are they? I was thinking of going out there this weekend.

I was using jigs,blk/chr,about 8 foot deep in 10-12 foot water.

Went back out today,1 crappie in an hour.

Funny side note, some topwater teal hunters set up their blind and decoys about 40 yards from the boat ramp.Bet they couldn't understand why they didn't get any:D :D

that is funny about the teal hunters, did you see any teal? It does not seem like it would be worth going up there fishing.

Went out Saturday from noon until 6pm. Fished the north end of the lake for the first 3 hours. Lots of surface activity... minnows jumping, something (crappie? whites?) going after them but nothing going after MY minnows.
Tried different depths but nothing but a big 'gill (right up against the banks).
Went downlake and back up to the "W" bridge over Owl Creek. (Usually good for some small ones). Caught a couple of short ones and an almost legal bass (fun on a 10' pole). All about 6' down in 15'- 19' of water.

Ran into a neighbor who said he'd caught 11 keepers (out of 25) trolling minnows 18' down in 20-22' water... LAST Saturday. (He's a refugee from Minnesota who stays clear of the timber)

Didn't see any teal but heard some shooting from better "concealed hunters".:D :D
Friday was good but Sat. and Sun. couldn't buy a bite.

Another side note, been see lots of activity driving back and forth.Lots of deer and turkey on the move.Seems to be more seagull and herons and cranes also.

Not many comorants this year, tons of them 2 years ago,1/2 as many last year, now almost none.Looking foward to see the eagles again.

Cook, what part of the lake are you fishing? I do most of mine in the north end. Last weekend, was down on the south end and couldn't hardly buy a bite.
