Tebo Saturday
Spent a few days last week at Truman......fought the rain and bass fisherman pre-fishing for the big Saturday tourney thru friday, not much to post about......the fishing was tough for us and the water was super muddy. The bass fisherman were parked all the way back to the campground road on Saturday morning, so we decided to go over to Windsor.....never been there before but figured it was a good day to try it out. Was misty rain for much of the morning but cleared off somewhat in the afternoon. The water was much better on Tebo. Graphed a bunch of fish as we headed to some timber along the banks that we wanted to fish......didn't figure them for crappie but dropped some minnows as we slow trolled for the heck of it. They WERE crappie, and lots of them. We started poor man spider rigging (a pole in each hand with a double minnow rig with a 3/8 oz weight on the bottom to hold it tight and straight down) and were catching bunches of fish in 40 fow (no, that is not a typo!) fishing 15-18 ft down. Caught about a 2 pounder in the morning and several more nice ones, then took a little break and went back out in the pm........they were shallower later in the day, did best in 14-18 fow closer to the trees. Ended up catching tons of fish, with a bunch of shorts, but also several really nice fish. Only kept 21 or 22, but caught prolly 4X that many. Some pics for proof.
We do not want the gift of a fish; neither do we expect a lesson on fishing; what we direly need is a chance to fish
