Thanks for the info Wiskers. I think any one that is going to fish on Wilson Lake will trailer over there and not worry about locking.
Just wanted to post a warning for those of you who are gonna fish the Classic at the end of the month.
I'm a Towboat pilot and I run the Tn. River. Some of you may have seen the news report last month about the Chemical Barge getting into the upper gate of the main chamber at Wilson Lock. Man did it do some damage! We have been having to lock thru the Auxiliary Chamber at Wilson (1 Barge at a time) since the accident. It takes about 1hr & 15min to lock 1 barge. I have seen pleasure boats have some long delays to get through. I talked to Marsha (1 of the Lockmasters) before I got off the boat on 8/29/06 and she said that they will not be done with all the reapirs until late Oct. or early Nov.
So if any of you are counting on locking through Wilson Lock to fish in the Wilson pool, be prepaired for some possible downtime!
Good Luck:D
