While there are a zillion ways to catch them its impossible to say what works day to day. If I had one day, one rod, one jig size and color to fish Logan Martin and was fishing for food to survive (crappie), I would do the following:
1/32 oz Chartruese yellow jig head
Bobby Garland chartruese baby shad jig body
6# test line on a ultra light 6 ft rod
Target docks on main channel or creeks in 10-20 ft of water. Focus on docks with floating bases and pontoons. Just drop jigs slowly between the dock and the boat and set the hook at the slightest tap. Experiment with depths till you find a pattern. I have caught them with all sorts of colors but have the most confidence in the chartruese. I will tell you that the tap is the key, it isnt always a hit you associate with a big one. Sometimes the line quits sinking or just starts moving. If in doubt set the hook with a sharp pop of the wrist. I guarantee the fish are there and are eating, its all in the way you feed them.
