Spider rigging

When do you guys like to spider rig the best? I just recently bought a rig and can't try it out in yet bc the spawn is on here in Arkansas. Maybe post spawn? When is the best season? I'll be fishing small oxbow lakes that are about 10 ft deep

I prefer to S rig when they are deep, summer and winter. I dont really care to when they are shallow, but that is just a preference. Some folks do it year round with good results.

Spider rig year round. Change to a single hook rig when fishing shallow. Fish in 2-3 ft of water at times.

Year 'round...never really fish shallow. While the "spawn" fishermen are harrassing the males up shallow, I get my fill of the big females that are staged in the deeper water.

Year round for me now, when it gets hot I will be pulling cranks. I have only single-poled one time this year.
