Always a few bad apples that spoil it for everyone. I support the legalization of marijuana. To much time and money being spent on jailing violators.

I saw that on Facebook yesterday. In fact it compared to a armed gun rally held in Hartford Ct. on the same day where NO shots were fired. Gee, imagine that.

It isn't "just pot", nor does it make people passive. Legalize pot and it open the door to crack and heroin. Or worse. However, the fines generated by petty possession would be eaqul to traffic violations (which pay tons in revenue), so keep it illegal and triple the fines.

More people die from alcohol, which is legal, than marijuana, illegal. Doesn't make much sense to me. I don't use marijuana but the war on drugs is a farce.

I can tell you (from volunteering in an atmosphere that is geared towards addictions) pot is a gateway drug the leads to much worse......

I am against the legalization of marijuana ,but here are some facts that are true!!!

How many people are actually killed by drugs?
The number of drug deaths in the US in a typical year is as follows:
    • Tobacco kills about 390,000.
    • Alcohol kills about 80,000.
    • Sidestream smoke from tobacco kills about 50,000.
    • Cocaine kills about 2,200.
    • Heroin kills about 2,000.
    • Aspirin kills about 2,000.
    • Marijuana kills 0. There has never been a recorded death due to marijuana at any time in US history.
    • All illegal drugs combined kill about 4,500 people per year, or about one percent of the number killed by alcohol and tobacco. Tobacco kills more people each year than all of the people killed by all of the illegal drugs in the last century.

    Doctors vs. Gun Owners

    Doctors

    (A) The number of physicians in the U.S. is

    700,000.

    (B) Accidental deaths caused by Physicians

    per year are

    120,000.

    (C) Accidental deaths per physician
    is

    0.171.

Statistics courtesy of U.S. Dept of
    Health and Human Services.

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

    Now think about this:

    Guns

    (A) The number of gun owners in the U.S.

    is

    80,000,000.

    (Yes, that's 80 million)

    (B) The number of accidental gun deaths

    per year, all age groups,

    is

    1,500.

    (C) The number of accidental deaths

    per gun owner

    is

    .000188.

    Statistics courtesy of FBI

i don't smoke, drink or do any drugs. not my style. but i agree that the war on drugs is a waste of time and effort. i had a buddy who did narcotics work with a local pd who pretty much said the war will never be won. at least when it comes to pot. and true, pot is indeed a gateway drug, as is alcohol. should beer and booze be banned again?

the best statement in this thread so far is........our nation is a mess. morals and values have decayed and we finally have made fighting with each other a national pastime, through the guise of politics and the labels hung on us because of political parties.

sometimes i think i want to live in a small cabin in a big woods by a large lake without media streaming and wal marts.......lol
