I dont know what type to use but i would advise against planting it in your garden or yard that stuff is super aggressive and will take over a large area.I planted some early this spring but i put it in the woods where it cant spread into my yard,i dont know if it is growing or not havent wanted to wade through the ticks to find out.I could get you a start the next time i'm cutting some just say the word.

mduncan i dont know from first hand expierience but have heard that you dont want to do that. They say that stuff once established cant be killed out and will spread through a very large area via the roots in a very short time.
Might be possible to grow it in containers though thus having the ability to control it. Maybe buy a horse or cattle water tank and plant the stuff in that? But i dont think i would put it in my yard.

Good idea. I have a neighbor with a big ugly fence that would look good with some Bamboo covering it.
