it's a hybred. the broken lines on the side shows that. strippers have solid lines. good eating too.
Caught this on a brush pile on KY Lake while crappie fishing, it put up a great fight on an ultralite. Don't know if its a striper or a hybred. They call them rockfish down here.

Lots of fun.
Cool!!

Yes those hybrids are fun on light gear! My wife and I have both caught hybrids this spring on 8' jigging poles and crappie jigs that weighed just shy of 6 pounds each.

Good fish. If you eat them make sure to remove the red meat on the outside of the fillet. They fight like crazy!!
Creativity is just intelligence fooling around
I have always heard this and I have always done it. One time my buddy caught 3 huge saltwater stripes. I removed all the redmeat except on one small fillet chunk. I cooked it last. It turned the grease BLACK and when I busted open the fillet, it was darker than any fish meat I had ever seen.
So, yeah. Remove the red meat.
What is your definition of a hybrid? What 2 fish?
