I fished there at the begining of March. Caught fish from the banks, could only imagine if I had my boat with me. I was there for pre-deployment training up in San Antonio and made it down there three times and caught more fish than the last time I went. I currently in Afghanistan and am only dreaming of fishing! I caught them on minnows just off of the shore line. Not to sure they are still up that shallow so I am afraid this info will be of no use to you.

Thanks for the reply and thanks for your service. I'm former Air Force. What part of the lake were you bank fishing? They were probably spawning being so shallow. They're probable holding at 5' in 10' of water now. The info will be useful next year. At my age "time flies".
    Stay safe and hurry home!

I was fishing in a cove off of Recreation Road 7. Right before you get to the boat launch parking lot, there is a road on your left. Take that left turn and park in the furthest most corner. Take the trail down to the cove and fish away......
