    Default Hummingbird 998.

Has anyone used this unit or one similar for crappie trolling? I just bought one and wanted to know if it improves your fishing? Would you prefer a bow or console mounting position? And any other advice you give me to maximize my experience with it. Thanks.

humminbird 998/hd trolling motor mount pictures of structure.later on if you want to spend the money you can add the 360,then you can see the structure as you approach it and turn your boat to what ever possession you want or stop before you get to it.its really neat. heres a picture of structure thats out in front of my boat.

I have a 898 at the bow. When i am trolling, I am always looking at it for stuff to mark. I do not have one on the stern yet but do want to get bigger one for the back. Would not mind having a 2nd unit up front just for GPS.

Here's several good articles from Jason Halfen Outdoors...where he uses HB sideimaging to target crappie, walleye, and other panfish....

This is awesome--thanks for the link, Rickie. Lord willing, I will soon be the owner of an 898...looks like a lot of good information here.

Yes, that I will, Greenwing. Looking forward to getting it in and getting on the water...though I know the learning curve will be steep, especially for someone like myself who's never had anything even remotely close to this kind of quality or features.

Thanks, Rickie. Another excellent link with LOTS of helpful info, especially for a newbie. Actually, I would think there are many who could benefit from both of these links you posted. Much appreciated.
