The Garmin 250 is a great unit and it sells for right around the price you are looking for. I used the garmin 240 for years and loved it. But I think I like the 250 a little better.
I'm looking for a fishfinder for around 250$. What do ya'll think is the best for the money? I will be spider rigging for crappie only and will be looking for depth, structure, and baitfish. What do you guys think?

I like my Hummingbird. I am sure they have a good one in that range.
I agree with 1weezer, i have two Garmin 250 and a 398C. These units are second to none.

I like my Eagle 480. Gives good detail compared to some I've seen.

I have only LOWRANCE equipment. They are right about the
eagle 480. For the money it is great. My boat is equipt with 3 GPS units, 2 are GPS, SONAR combos. If you want to upgrade, go to the LOWRANCE 332C.
i have an eagle and love it. i've heard good things about the garmin stuff too. i doubt you'd go wrong with an eagle/lowrance or garmin product priced around that range and either should do everything you want them to do.
