    Default Recommended Crayfish Paradise Materials?

Sir, we once again in the near future will be doing a sustained bombardment of CJ Brown Reservoir in Ohio; we simply feel that of the 700 approved and actual 1,378+ actually "splashed" so far that it`s just TOO much FUN to stop now. That being said, several of us are conspiring to place possibly 20 cement block and/ or rubble piles covered with 10 hole red bricks with something long lasting thru 1 hole to hold them vertically. We are having a variety of "discussions" of varying decibles attempting to consider the most prolific crayfish habitat with the least possible effort. Assume you have a large sturdy pontoon, as much material as needed, and more than a couple crazy persons MORE than dumb enough to do this...how deep, how big in area, how high off the bottom, with what and why, sir! (Again, there`s MONEY, BEER and the further improvement of a reservoir at stake here, sir!)

    Lowell,

I won't be much help to you on this request. I have not done any habitat work strictly focused on increasing crayfish habitat.

Check with your local fish bio as they may have usable information for you. Someone with more experience on your particular project lake, knowledge of the species of crayfish available, and current habitats available would have information more applicable to your project.
