    today i got the blind off the boat and the decoys out, tomorrow i will load up the tackle and i'm ready to fish.

    they just changed it last year, we can now use 3 poles. I bought rod holders this year to try spider rigging.

    i like that its an active way to fish. always seem to catch that way. i even stopped using minnows a few months ago and catch just as many fish.

    we have alot of weeds in our lakes, i wonder how much that will affect spider rigging.

    hate snags. are they mostly shallow? we have a lot of blow downs here that can really get you. 6lbs test helps pull through them sometimes. snags here pretty much got me to fishin' open water for suspended fish, which i do most always. do you have electronics?

    yes i have electronics, all the crappie i catch are structure oriented weeds or laydown trees, all black crappie. do you catch blacks in open water.

    you bet. i you to fish beaver huts, structure, brush piles, etc. i'd cast to and around them with minnows and bobbers. don't do much casting anymore. what's the lake depth like?
