Fishing deep for crappie & bluegill, how do you rig?

I like to fish deep for crappie and sometimes I will catch a nice bluegill. I've heard of people downsizing and still doing well for both.

How do you rig for crappie & bluegill when using a trout magnet tipped with a crappie nibble or piece of worm when fishing deep? What size weight do you use and do you put it above or below your jig? Do you use a loop knot or a 3-way swivel?

Loop knot. Weight on bottom. I usually go bigger for deeper water.
