I've never noticed a difference so I stick to cheap.
Just wondering how much difference head color makes. i know it has to make some difference, just how much. i use mostly raw lead heads. mainly because i loose alot of them and they are most affordable. i use alot of different colors of grubs and tubes. some days color dosent matter and some days the color has to be just right. i can see when using minnows, head color would be important. but when using a chartruse grub do i need a chartruse head as well?

Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish, he'll sit in a boat and drink beer all day.
I believe contrast is sometimes important- usuall, I use a 2 or 3 color tube or Kalin's. The unpainted head is actually another color. Mine are all dull lead in color.
i either use black or raw lead head once and a while i will switch up to white with a little chartreuse
I mostly use raw but also like all white and all red. Some guys swear by pink too so I'm going to try them as well. I think it depends on how active they are. I dont think it hurts and my very well help, in certain situations.
Another vote for plain jig heads.. Once and a while pink, but mostly plain heads
it just depends on water clarity whatever works best on conditions
fishing from the couch in front of the tv doesnt count
plain leadhead has caught me more than i can count..and alot cheaper...
Water conditions and bit, make a difference, experiment with different color on each rod and let fish tell you what to use. i use mine that way with each rod at a different depth until i find pattern.
I PRACTICE CATCH & FRY---WHEN I CAN FISH AND CATCH:D
sometimes a painted jig head will add the color needed to make the lure appealing to those lipped critters, sometimes raw lead/silver/gray is the color of choice.
GO BIG ORANGE !
I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.
