    Default Crappie in the kayak.

Had a great day today despite the rain & cold. First fish ever caught from the kayak. Boated 7. Kept three.

Way to go, I can't wait to try my "crappie canoe" next week. How did you catch your fish today?

    Thanks y'all.

I started w/ a couple jigs. Usually do well on a white grub jig. Not even a tug. So I tried a beetle spin. Still nothing.
As I was about to give up, I grabbed a live minnow & BANG, the fun began.

I caught the fish right against the bank, very close to the grass, in about 3' of water.

I would like to ge me a yak and fish out of, it just looks like fun and you can get up close and personnal with the fish. I have seen some thatare more decked out than some bigger fishing boats.
Lets go soak a line. Pat

Yeah, I've seen those boats too. I'm of the mind set, less is better.
Ive got a big boat that I fish out of when my wife & son come along. But if they're staying in, I love the yak.
I usually carry 2 rods & a small Plano box with baits, depending on what fish I'm targeting.
I only lake fish, same lake fay in & day out, so I know what depths & spots I'm going to target before I head out. So, I don't need a lot of "things" I see other yakers toting.
    Im a simple man.

LOL Skeetbum. As long as the fish keep jumping on my hooks, I'll keep posting about them here.
