    Get LED's. They're both.

I have noticed some cheaper priced LED lite packages in a few car parts stores that don't say waterproof on the package, I would stay far away from these. I switched to Led's 5 years ago and not a speck of trouble, and brake lites are nice and bright.

LEDs solved most of my trailer light problems. I also ran a dedicate ground wire from the connection at the hitch to each trailer light and that solved the rest of my trailer problems.

I have most of my water proof sealed batteries on my trailer going on 15 years. Only replaced one directional and one side light. LED's are nice and the price is not a whole lot more than regular.

I solved my problems with leds on guide-on pole lights... and a separate ground wire... the pole lights keep the lights out of the water.
