    Default Pro Staff Questions

Just wondering about those of you that are on Pro Staff's or have other sponsorships. Did you seek out the sponsor or were you approached first. I am guessing that there are different levels of benefits to being on a pro staff.
What is expected of you as a sponsored angler (seminars, video tips etc.) and what do you receive in return? Say you are sponsored by a certain lure company, Is it taboo to use anything else on tourney day?
Have always wondered about how all this works.
    Thanks

Little bit of both. Being able to hear that someone is seeking Pro-Staff is a benefit, sometimes companies announce this. You first need to put together a fishing resume. Send it out to companies that you already use their product, do not wait to be approached.
There will be different expectations for different companies and different type sponsorships. Some will be product sponsorships, some monetary for expenses.
The way I look at it, if you have to use another lure that the fish wants, that just happens sometimes.
I am not much of a help, but I try.

I have been asked to be on five Pro-Staffs in my life. Currently I am a Pro Staffer for Bob's Jigs and an ambassador for a major company. They sought me out. You pretty much try and "Suggest" their products when you talk to groups or are asked about what lures you use. You get a few lures to try out. I have had articles in the last five issues of Crappie World magazine, but that does not make me a pro! Just a Pro Wannabe. LOL

There's a big difference in being Pro(motional) Staff and sponsored. Many pro staff positions only get you a discount on that brand in return for advertising their products.

I was a hunting and fishing factory rep. Your best chance is to find the rep group that covered you area. We had 28 factories we sold for and covered IA NEB MO KS.
