bought three of these for in hopes of finding a "cheap" spin cast reel to use for long line trolling, normally spider rig and tight line, bout anyway you get what you pay for LOL. The spool travel doesn't go all the way high enough to properly place the line on the spool. See picture.

Save your money and invest in some name brand equipment! Oh well lesson learned....

They are the el cheapo foreign made junk and sell for about 6.95. You get what you pay for. I bought some just to hold line on my jig poles and reel handles fell off first use and plastic reel spool is plastic junk. Save your money , venders selling them cheap to discontinue the crap.

That's exactly why i bought these, "to hold line" LOL i guess you have to be able to get the line on first!! I went to BassPro and bought 6 BP spinning reels for 20$ each with 3 ball bearings and these are smooth and take line great!

The el cheap o's where Hi Tech Optimax from Grizzly Jig Co., wish there had been a "customer review" on these.

Lol before buying anything made by HT check out ice fishing boards. Some of their stuff is good but most is a no go.

I was pointed toward the "tiny deadbolt" pinnacle spinning reels for $20 at Academy by a poster here. I own about 4 or 5 of them now---even my son uses them, and they are awesome little reels. Very smooth. I use them both for my jig poles in the winter, and my white bass/crappie spinning rods. They are very smooth. I noticed the browning spinning reels were identical except for color, and about $10 more at Bass Pro.
