Default New to fall crappie fishing

Need info on how to fish for fall crappie. Caught a bunch in spring fishing stumps in 12 to 20' water. Should fish be back there in fall? Also putting out bamboo piles in this area along a creek channel.
Plans in progress for sinking an old boat rigged out with bamboo and PVC. What ya think?

I would think you'd be able to find them in timber as shallow as 4-6ft in the fall. Wouldn't stick on a single piece of timber to long. work both sides and move on.

I probably wouldn't get caught sinking an old boat if I were you, at least not on public waters. Seems a little extreme to me. But around here it's not actually legal to add anything in the corps lakes.

Probably still catch them where you did in the spring since it's not real shallow anyway. However look for some grass in 10'-14' near a drop off and slow troll a 1/16oz. jig with your troll motor.

Where are you in East Texas as I live on Toledo Bend just South of Hemphill. What lake or lakes do you fish on?

I fish on Lake O Pines, Wright Patman, Caddo, and T.B.
I do more fishing than catching but I am learning.
