    i was just wondering how many of you guys try dropshot rig for crappie ?

    I've used it for more than 20 years, well before I ever heard the term "drop-shot rig". I used to cast minnows with the rig on ledges in the winter time with baitcasting tackle. I would use a bass casting sinker on bottom probably up to 1/2 oz, depending on the depth. About 18" to 2 feet above that I had a 3 way swivel with a dropper line about a foot long with a bronze #1 or 2 light wire hook. I hooked the minnows up thru the top of the head and cast them on the deep side and worked them up the ledge, much like one would fish for bass. That rig bailed me out several days and put some limits in the boat.
