Polarized Sunglasses....

do you guys use polarized sunglasses for fishing? I thought about buying a pair but don't know if they would be beneficial for crappie fishing?

They do allow you see down in the water a little deeper than non polarized or the naked eye, but the biggest benefit is the way they cut the glare off the water. They can prevent a headache on a really bright sunny day on the water.
At least that is my impression of them.
Oh, sometimes it is hard to read the FF screen with them on.

They are important to me, as having sharp hooks. Never fish without them. As Searay mentioned, may have to take them off to get a good look at the graph. Spend some money on a decent pair, not from Walmart.

Was looking at a pair of XPS from BassPro Shop... just wanted to be an educated buyer. LOL.

The main thing is they cut down on the glare which really bothers me and enables me to see further into the water. I spent decent coinage for the ones I have and I always use them when fishing.

I have been using polarized prescription sun glasses for years and love them. They
are also bi-focal which really helps in threading a hook.

Polarized for me as well. After wearing them for years I tried to save some money and try some standard lenses..mistake! If you are going to be on the water a lot, the investment is well worth the money. In my years of bass fishing for bedding fish in the spring they really helped, but the main benefit is cutting down the glare off the water as others here have stated.

You will always want polarized glasses while on the water. I had a pair of Costa Delmar prescription glasses for years and loved them. Finally after a couple of prescription changes I've changed to the Cocoons so I don't have to change prescription on both pairs.

Fishing submerged tree tops with a friend one day I was able to see the tree tops much better and further away than he could with his sun glasses and he was 20 years younger than I. I'm not sure his sunglasses were polarized but he was sure impressed when he tried on my Cocoons.

You didn't indicate whether you wore prescription glasses or not but those Cocoons can be used with out wearing them over prescription glasses and I noticed those BPS XPS glasses were more expensive than the Cocoons.
