25 teams entered event. Prior to cold front passing on Wednesday, pre-fishing
had been quite good in most parts of lake
coverning 15,960 acres, with most being
taken in open water at north end. Thurs
fishing slowed up dreastically and Friday
became quite a work day, finding them
and catching being to totally different
worlds. Lot of talk Friday stemmed around
    where had fish gone.
Saturday opened with 46 degrees temp.,
water at 54.5, wind out of N/E about 4-5.5 mph. Teams went in all directions, some to north end, other to center around Bear Island, still more went into
canal heading to Dead Lake with several
    going onto Dead Lake.
All forms of fishing were in use. Spider
    rigging, ight lining, long-lining, push-pull
and one team went to single pole jigging,
pitching and bobber fishing the pads.

Winning team spider rigged with WM 14-16' rods, ron's jip jigs (hot pink, butterscotch & Orange head with red collar) in canal between Dead Lake & south end of Crescent lake - 16 -18'
    water, 10' down.

    Second place used 10 & 14' Deep-south
rods, pitching and single pole jiggin cypess knees against bank in 14-16" water. Jigs were pink with white belly,
clear curly tail. & Charlie Brewer sliders,
dark black with chart paddle tail

Third place used 14 - 16' Deep-South rods, spider riggin the canal between
Dead Lake & Crescent in 16-18' water,
10 ft down. Ron's zip jigs (hot pink, white
    with red collar and Butterscotch

Next tournament will be Lake Istokpoga,
public ramp off hwy 621, Lake Placid, Fl
    March 23rd.

Scott, you may be right, didn't get real close look at them -due to crowding at ramp
    when he loaded

I know this Billy & Danny are excellant fisherment and was pleasure to have to come
fish with us past couple tournaments

    Correction: Winners of tournament

Billy Williams was fishing with his BnM rods.....and Danny Williamson
was using Wally Marshall's, both of excellant quality. I was only able to
note the WM's when they were loading boat from distance, my error.
