    Default Lit'l help, please,

Was hoping one of you guys could recommend a fishin guide for crappie in any lakes between Los Angeles & San Francisco, will be attending a wedding the 25th of May 2013 and plan to vacation til' June 8th. Don't know how the bite is at this time of year, but you've got some deep lakes & my son and I have never netted one over 3 lbs. yet, which seems to be attainable goal in your great state, much appreciation in advance for the "skinny".......Thanks Jeff.

Lake Isabella or lake nacimiento, either or. And you don't need a guide or boat. All you need is a slip bobber and minnows/jigs. I'd be surprised if you catch a 3 pounder but there is plenty in the 1.5-2.5# range. These 2 lakes are the only ones I can think of off top, that are in-between LA and the bay, that have good ole bank crappie fishing year after year. Most of our lakes don't have guides that target crappie. Crappie are here, but their very hard to find most of the time in our fluctuating reservoirs.
