Coon gulf on Gvill

My son and I are headed for coon gulf in the morning. Trying out the new canoe setup and looking for them slabs. Any hints on where to look and what to throw would be greatly appreciated. This is our first trip, my son is only 9 so he is super excited and im hoping not to disappoint. Thanks DW

South of 117 on the mtn side of the river . We ended up going to island creek instead we was trying to stay out of the wind and only caught one keeper

I thought that is where you were talking about. I grew up in Stevenson and live in Hollywood now. I heard island creek was on fire at night with minnows for a while but the bite has quit there now I think. I was catching them real good in Stevenson for a while but not many lately. I am going further south on the river now to catch them.
