    Default Tube Jigs {Basic colors}

    Hello,

    What would be the basic tube jig colors you would want to have for somewhat clear water and dirty water?...Pretty much what colors would you want in your tackle box at all times..

    Chartreuse (I prefer the Yellow Chartreuse, but sometimes use the FL. Chartreuse which is Green) and most any other color. So here is what I like...

    Clear water... (body/Head) Blue/White, (Some like FL Red Head on this too) Gray/Gray, Blue Chartreuse. White/Chart, White/White, Chart/Chart.

    Stained water...My Christmas Jig colors (FL.Red/Green/Chart), Chart/Chart, Chart/Lt. Blue, Black/ Chart, Black/Pink. I also am using some new variegated colors that I really like and one is in my Sig pic.

    There are many more I like, but the above are popular colors. I use mostly chenille and feather jigs, but the same colors work in tubes. Love the blue/white tube!

    Clear water use silver flake /white or blue/white
    Stained/muddy water use anything/chartruse ,pink/white, any bright colors work as well as black . The purple ,black , or red are great with chartruse. My favorite is pink/white. I perfer a larger jig in colored water ,even more so when the crappie are aggressive in spring and early summer.:D

    I use more subdued natural colors when fishing clear water and the brighter colors (read anything with chartreuse in it) when fishing in stained water. My best fish catcher in Washington's clear waters is clear w/ black/silver flake. Not sure why but it always seems to work...

    and speaking strictly about "tube" colors:
    blu/char
    blk/char
    red/char
    wht/char
    pink/char
    grn/char
    solid white
    solid chartreuse

    Sparkles and/or "flakes" (in the tails, body, or both) are optional, but do add flash & contrast. ....... luck2ya ... cp
