Default How many pound test line do you use?

I was watching a clip on youtube about crappie fishing and a guy says that it is best to use 20 lbs spider wire braid because when you get hung up you can always straighten out the hooks and not loose a jig. What do you guys use? Will crappie get spook from the big spider wire braid?

    6lb Mr.Crappie hi-vis.
Use gold hooks and you can get your jig back 90% of the time, as it will bend most any gold ones on a 1/16th oz jig head, and #2 hook.. If you want to use bronze hooks, go ahead and pre-bend them about straight and then back to original bend and they will also bend back out on a hang up. . There is allot of personal opinions about this question. good luck. It is just what I use, nothing against the rest.

I usually use 10lb PowerPro braid. It has a diameter of about 2-4lb mono and will usually straighten the hook on a jig.

I use 4lb hi vis Fireline but am thinking of going to 4lb or 6lb Mr. Crappie. I pretty much always use bronze hooks.

I use 6lb hi viz Viscious line and litewire hooks most of the time, but do use other jig heads as well. Litewire jigs will straighten out, or I break off and go on. Usually have another rod ready to use anyways.
    GO BIG ORANGE !

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

15/4 Cajun red or Suffix 14/4 braid. In the color of water around here never seems to be a problem even when it clears some. If all the different highvis lines don't bother them braid not going to bother them either.

I use 10 lb. mono.....high vis yellow on all my rods. If you don't lose a jig every now and then your fishing in the wrong spot.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

I usually run #6 on mine but I'm just fishing, no brush piles, no trolling, no umbrella rigs, etc. This year I'll have 3 rods rigged and ready; 2 will have 6 pound Berkely Trilene and the other will have 4 pound Trilene. I'll be interested to see how things go with the 4.
