Default B n M Graphite Jig Pole not recommended for spider rigging?????

    Hi,
I just purchased a B n M Buck's Graphite Jig Pole (12' length) (model BGJP 122) and notice in the paperwork that came with the rod it says this pole is not recommended for spider rigging. I have this same pole that is 10' long that I have been using for spider rigging and like it well and have had no problems with it. Do any of you guys use this pole for spider rigging and have you experienced any failures with the poles? Do you think I need a stiffer pole for my spider rigging?

Thanks, in advance, for anyone who offers their thoughts.

If you like the pole and the way it feels.....use it....everybody has there own preference as to what they like in a jig pole.....so, if it suits you....then you have the right one.

If it works for you, then don't change it. That jig pole is light, and probably why not recommended for spider rigging. The trolling rods have a lot more backbone, and a little more tip than the BGJP.

I imagine it is because graphite breaks a little different than fiberglass. When you snag spider rigging it could take a bit to react, from my [limited] experience the fiberglass rods bend a lot more than the graphite before breaking.

I peeked in Ronnie Capps boat once....He wasn't using Capps & Colemans, he had BGJP's in the boat.
