Default setting sugestions for HB 597 DI

I purchased a new HB597 over the weekend. My question is if anyone has any setting or tips to help shorten the learning curve on this unit ? Any help is appreciated

I ran one of those until I upgraded to a 958. Just go fishing, you can play with it all you want, but you don't have to. First time on the water you will see how good the images are! Boat movement or speed will get you great images 1-3 MPH. See something you want to go fish use the cursor to mark a way point. Then go back and have at it.

default , on the scroll speed seems to be pretty good.contrast also seems to be pretty good on default.you can keep the enhance menu open all the time if you want and make adjustments as you go .there's also a ping adjustment that you might want to play with.here's a picture that will give you something to shoot for.

I got a new HB DI unit last year, not near it right now, may be a 597. I came with a CD for use/instruction. I'm not much for watching a CD at home and then trying to remember all that info on the river/lake. I went to local UPS Store and talked to the nice young man who loves to fish working there and came back in an hours to get my plastic covered, spiral bound Tech Manual he printed off the CD! Best $10.ever spent. Spent the next few trips on the water playing with the unit with instructions in hand! Love it and get full value with all the details readily available. HB does not provide a printed manual-I called, they are just down the road from me in Eufaula, Al.
